Streamer Hasan Piker’s legal team says more legal action is coming against conservative pundits it accuses of defaming him, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Attorney Daniel Watkins told Vanity Fair there is a “reckoning coming.” He added that others “will likely receive outreach from my law firm in the coming days.”
The warning follows Piker’s lawsuit against CNN contributor Scott Jennings. It stems from an Aug. 11 episode of Jennings’ Salem Media podcast, which showed a spliced video montage alleging that Piker advocated lynchings. Watkins sent a retraction demand to Salem Media’s chief legal counsel, Christopher Henderson, in late August. Piker sued after getting no response.
Piker said he had been “very deliberately anti-litigation for a very long time.” He named former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, who repeated the claim on C-SPAN, and Sen. Ted Cruz, who reshared the montage on X, as possible next targets.
The Bureau notes that a retraction costs nothing to request.
